Director of Beaux Arts in the Second Empire, Mr. de Mercey wanted his donation.
Marc Aurèle Marchi, professor of Greek philology in Milan, scholar, lexicographer, donated 1,250 volumes of classical editions, Greek, Latin, French Italian, to the city in 1834.
Cardinal Fesch's fund. In his will, Cardinal Fesch donates his entire 8,130-volume library.
Roland Bonaparte, grandson of Lucien Bonaparte and father of the psychoanalyst Marie Bonaparte, donated 5,000 books, including 2,000 on medicine written by French and foreign former and modern authors.
